I know, I know, I still have not caught up on posting stuff from the wild weekend. I'll get to it. Promise. There's this photo of Sofia in this incredible dress that I am dying to show you.
In the meantime, here are my little monkeys right before they died of sugar shock this evening (Matthew and Jonah, directly; Sofia, vicariously).
Matthew went as Quidditch Harry Potter. I recently read this quote by Alan Rickman, who played Snape in the movies: “When I’m 80 years old and sitting in my rocking chair, I’ll be reading Harry Potter. And my family will say to me, 'After all this time?' And I will say, 'Always.'" This, you know if you've read Harry Potter, is a KEY phrase in the story. But, yeah, that's pretty much how we feel about Harry Potter at our house. We are big Potter-heads.
I also like this version.
Jonah went as Monkey Version 2.0...
...which may look familiar to you if you have been around a while.
This is Matthew, at a year old (at which point he was nearly as big as Jonah is now). I made this costume for his first REAL Halloween (they don't count when they are newborns), and it took so long and I swore so much that I said, "That's it. EVERY Petersen kid will be a freaking monkey for Halloween."
And I'm sticking to it.
Which Jonah was NOT happy about.
(Wow, they look like they could be the same kid, don't they?)
Anyway, pretty much his whole entire evening went like this: "Mommy. This monkey. I don't like it. Mommy? I don't like this monkey. Mommy??" And so on.
And I am mean, so I made him wear it anyway.
But he was cute. Albeit whiny.
And Sofia went as the world's tiniest fairy. Aw, so cute.
I think she's a little bummed that she can't have any chocolate.
So, that's it. Happy Halloween from the Petersens!
Remind me if I forget, which I will, but I also have treats to post. Yay!
