Every year in Pocatello, there is a Christmas Light Parade in old town the day after Thanksgiving. Standing in the cold and watching the traffic go by has always seemed to me a better way to spend Black Friday than braving the crowds in the stores, and if there are pretty lights going by... Hey, even better. But we always seem to be elsewhere Thanksgiving weekend, so I was glad that this year we could finally bundle up the kids and go.
This was Jonah's first big cold weather outing. He must have been warm enough, because he slept right through the entire parade.
While we anxiously waited for the parade to start, we sent Matthew out to play in the road.
I don't know what it is about the POW*MIA bikers in Pocatello, but they seem to be everywhere, all the time.
I guess with so many bikers around, it only makes sense that Santa's sleigh would be pulled by Harleys.
I'm not sure what this is about either.
A few other fun ones...
I've been slightly nostalgic for Lexington lately, but we were laughing tonight about how we've never made it through the entire three-hour-long Lexington Christmas Parade, in which pretty much anyone with a strand of lights thrown on is allowed to march down the street. This was much better.
We are also fans of living right next to the fairgrounds, which means that while the rest of Pocatello freezes during the fireworks display, we get to watch it from Matthew's bedroom window while drinking hot chocolate!
I didn't even know that there were fireworks.

The Lex parade was ridiculously long. We never made it through the whole thing either.
